Primary: Responsible for the day-to- day operations of the dining room and kitchen.
Key Responsibilities:
- Pre-preparation and/or thawing of frozen items for future meals as per the menu.
- Prepares and serves food as recipe requires, in accordance with the menu, ensuring that foods are flavorful, cooked and served at proper temperature. Remaining alert to the needs of residents needs.
- Maintains a high degree of orderliness and cleanliness in the food preparation area, setting a good example for other food service employees. Must observe sanitary food handling practices.
- Receives, inventories and signs for orders in absence of the kitchen director. Responsible for assembling supplies needed for each meal, packaging leftovers with proper labels, including date on each package/ container.
- Preparation and service of well cooked, flavorful foods served at proper temperatures always remaining alert to the needs of residents.
- Complies and follows nutritional, sanitation and proper food handling guidelines.
- Perform other related duties as required and directed.
- Restocking of tables with condiments. Ensuring all containers are cleaned weekly.
- Checks refrigerator for stock of juices and milks.
- Assists in serving breakfast, lunch and dinner.
- Wash dishes, pots, pans. And anything else in need of washing.
- Take out garbage on cook side.
- Must observe sanitary food handling practices.
- Prepares condiments for meals.
- Restocking of tables with condiments. Ensuring all containers are cleaned weekly.
- Checks refrigerator for stock of juices and milks.
- Set-up cold cereal in bowls.
- Set-up for meals with direction from cook.
- Assists in serving breakfast, lunch and dinner.
- Wash dishes, pots, pans. And anything else in need of washing take out garbage on dishwasher side, sweep and mop floors. Clean out dishdrain from sanitation machine.
- Make coffee keep coffee counter clean and restocked.
- Assist cooks with prepping of next meal.
- Take trays to apartment residents.
- Assists in maintaining a high degree of orderliness and cleanliness in the food and preparation area.
- Must observe sanitary food handling practices.
